Ivanti Avalanche 6.2 Offers Expanded Device Control, Enhances Enrollment and Reporting, and Powers Greater Android Scalability

SALT LAKE CITY – November 16, 2017Ivanti today announced that it is enhancing supply chain mobility with the launch of Avalanche 6.2, powered by Wavelink. Designed to meet the increasing demands of supply chain enterprises migrating to Android, Ivanti Avalanche 6.2 is a proven Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution for managing Android devices, applications and frameworks.

Recently, Ivanti teamed with VDC Research to produce a whitepaper that looks at the evolution of mobility in warehousing, outlining evolving requirements that are shaping the future of mobile applications within the supply chain. Based on its survey of warehousing professionals, VDC Research found that 56 percent plan to upgrade their existing fleet of mobile devices. Of those, 35 percent said that these upgrades are being driven by current mobile platforms, including Microsoft’s Windows CE or Windows Mobile, nearing end-of-life. This is making way for the emergence of a new generation of modern Android-powered handheld devices, purpose-built and ruggedized for the supply chain, that are now taking the place of legacy mobile devices within today’s warehousing operations.

“It’s imperative that customers begin migrating toward next-generation mobile platforms, as once popular platforms like Windows Mobile and Windows CE reach their end of support by 2020,” said Steve Bemis, Global Vice President of Sales, Supply Chain Business Unit, Ivanti. “The investments we are making in Android-based supply chain solutions, combined with our three decades of experience in delivering MDM solutions for the world’s largest and most-respected supply chain enterprises, make us an ideal business partner for improving efficiencies and modernizing the supply chain.”
